OPIOID SETTLEMENT FUNDING
In 2023 the City of Philadelphia announced that $7.5 million from national opioid settlement funds will be invested in Kensington schools, parks, and strategies to keep residents in their homes, like home repair, foreclosure prevention, and rental assistance. These investments will be guided by master planning efforts led by NKCDC and Impact Services, city officials said. However, this new money is not being used to fund the planning process itself or existing projects already in process from Impact and NKCDC.
