COMMUNITY PLANS

North of Lehigh Neighborhood Plan
Through volunteer-led studies, community meetings, focus groups and surveys, NKCDC engaged 400 residents for this plan released in 2013.

Heart of Kensington Collective Impact Plan
In 2016, Impact Services engaged hundreds of local residents, community organizations, and other stakeholders to identify priorities for Kensington.

Community priorities from 2022 meetings
Kensington neighbors and local civic associations, active for years in their own neighborhoods, began sending lists of their shared priorities to the City of Philadelphia in 2021.

OPIOID SETTLEMENT FUNDING

In 2023 the City of Philadelphia announced that $7.5 million from national opioid settlement funds will be invested in Kensington schools, parks, and strategies to keep residents in their homes, like home repair, foreclosure prevention, and rental assistance. These investments will be guided by master planning efforts led by NKCDC and Impact Services, city officials said. However, this new money is not being used to fund the planning process itself or existing projects already in process from Impact and NKCDC.
